Jonny Shipes, native New Yorker and founder of hip-hop label Cinematic Music Group, gives us a run-down of his favorite late-night food south of 14th Street. Jonny starts the night off at Bobwhite Counter in Alphabet City with a buffalo chicken sandwich, a barbecue chicken sandwich, and mac and cheese. Next, he travels to Café Habana in NoLita, a longstanding Cuban/Mexican diner, for grilled corn on the cob, Pollo Mirador, and mojitos.
After that, Jonny heads to the East Village to Lil’ Frankies, an Italian pizzeria that stays open until 2am on weeknights and 4am on weekends for his beloved spaghetti limon, burrata caprese salad, pizza Margherita, and zucchini fries. Jonny ends the night at Halal Guys in Stuyvesant Town, where he encounters the legendary chicken and rice platter and a flock of undergrads.
